Everyone remembers the tragic story of Charla Nash. On February 16, 2009 a nine-year-old pet chimpanzee named Travis snapped. Charla was mauled and Travis was shot. Charla recently appeared on Oprah denouncing the chimpanzee pet trade.
Today, Dr. Jane Goodall talks to NetGreen about the incident and why chimpanzees should never be pets. Be sure to check back on NetGreen as we dive into the controversy surrounding chimpanzees in the entertainment industry and pet trade.
