Dr. Sheri Speede talks to Net Green News about Dorothy the chimpanzee. Dorthy passed away at the Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center in Cameroon in September 2008. Through a now famous photograph of chimpanzees morning her death her legacy continues to live on. Dorothy spent 25 years of her life chained to the base of a tree. Despite years of abuse, Speede says Dorothy was the kindest chimpanzee she’s ever known.
